Liberty Harper, President and CEO, is experienced as both a franchisee as well as a franchisor. She understands all aspects of the franchise industry, having worn many hats in the corporate offices of Liberty Fitness which she co-founded in 2002. Previously, Liberty served as a double franchise co-owner with Curves International in 1998, with her mother and father, receiving the prestigious Franchisee of Year Award in 1999. Liberty specializes in all things Franchise Services such as support, training and communication, having experience assisting with domestic as well as international franchise partners in countries such as China, Singapore, Qatar, South Korea, United Arab Emirates, and India.
Ms. Harper is also heavily involved with the International Franchise Association (IFA). She has held a position on the Women's Franchise Committee since 2005 and led the start-up of the Women's Franchise Network (WFN) in Central Texas until this year where she began the first WFN in San Francisco then re-started the San Diego Chapter this passed year. Liberty has also been a member of the IFA Membership Committee and Ambassador for new members to help them get acquainted with the franchise community.
In addition, Liberty was featured in the February 2006 issue of Marie Claire magazine in an article entitled “I Made it by Age 30, and So Can You!” She was the cover story for the June 2006 issue of Austinwoman Magazine, is included in the new book by Debra Shigley, The Go-Getter Girls' Guide, and continues to be quoted in many national publications including The New York Times, CNN Money, Fitness Business Pro, ACE Fitness Matters,Entrepreneur, Club Business International, Club Industry, Franchise Times and Franchising World .
Since 2006, Liberty has been featured on a national infomercial for a new fitness product that continues to run today. Most recently she was featured in the August 2007 issue of AustinFit Magazine, as one of "Austin's 10 Fittest People". Lynn Harper, Director, Sales and Communications moved upward in the ranks of Fortune 500 companies such as Gillette, Miles Laboratories, American Home Products and Faberge, then took the lead marketing role in the world’s largest direct sales company, Amway Corporation. She also spent a number of years working for the Governor of Iowa as head of Business and Economic Development.
Lynn was a founding partner in Quorum, International, the first direct sales distributor of electronic products and at the same time, she and a partner founded the largest privately owned satellite network in North America.
Lynn, together with her husband, Bill, and daughter, Liberty, opened the first Curves franchise in California, then a second location a year later. They became Franchisees of the Year, then sold the business and co-founded Liberty Fitness, where Lynn's leadership of the franchise development process built the company to nearly 60 units in just two years time.
She sold her majority interest in the company in order to pursue her various media endeavors including a top rated radio show, a weekly television show, a syndicated column in the New York Times, and national television appearances on CNN and MSNBC, to name only a few.
She now lends her sales, marketing and communications expertise to The Harper Consulting Group.
